Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Camp on “The Art of Poetry” offered by Boston University edX.

Invitation to all Poetry Enthusiasts!

The Gisbert Library and American Corner in coordination with the Thomas Jefferson Information Center, U.S. Embassy, Manila, are inviting faculty members and students to join the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Camp on “The Art of Poetry” offered by Boston University edX.  MOOCers are encouraged to attend the first meet-up session for the launching and orientation on April 11, 2016, 3:40PM to 5:40PM at the MPR, Miguel Pro Learning Commons, 2nd floor, Community Center. During the graduation ceremony in May 2016, MOOCers will receive certificates from the U.S. Embassy and Boston University and token from the Gisbert Library and American Corner.

Course Title: The Art of Poetry (Boston University) edX

Course Overview:

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of National Poetry Month, the American Spaces of the U.S. Embassy in Manila launches a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Camp on “The Art of Poetry” offered by Boston University edX. This 6-week free online course aims to discuss the art elements and techniques in poetry reading and writing. The MOOC students in this course will learn how to think about, read, listen to, and engage with poems. MOOC learners will also acquire knowledge on historical poems as well as contemporary works and poetry’s relationship to music.

 

Course Dates:            March 29 – May 3, 2016 (6-week program)
